Planning and resources for the week beginning 28.09.2020
Class: Mice Year: 2020 - 2021
Hello Parents and Carers!
Whether you are isolating, awaiting a test, or just plain curious, here is the planning for the week along with a phonics sheet.
In maths we are looking at repeating patterns and you can make these with anything in the house, shoes, socks, fruit, coloured plates, lego bricks etc. Start with a two colour or two item repeating pattern and see if they can carry it on. When they are good at that, ask them to make a pattern for you to complete (make a mistake and see if they spot it). When they have got the hang of that increase to a three colour or three item pattern. Once they have got the hang of that, you can increase the complexity of the patterns.
You can use money, natural objects, counters, smarties, coasters, paint and finger prints, anything! And remember a repeating pattern can be the noun, not just the appearance - eg dog, horse, acorn, dog, horse, acorn and so on. Have fun with it!

Remember that talking to and reading with your child are hugely beneficial and will improve their achievement in all subjects. We are learning to re-tell the story of We're Going on a Bear Hunt. You can read and play and practise this story.
