A love of learning is key for me and my family. Our first son is in Year 2, our other son will be joining Dobcroft in 2016.
Dobcroft Infants' nurtures, values and encourages its pupils, staff and parents. I would like to play an active role in building on these successes, by supporting, facilitating and extending opportunities for all of the schools' learning community.

Professionally, I was a Head of Geography and then became a Study Support Advisor for Oldham LEA. More recently I worked on a  successful schools collaboration, linking Manor, Arbourthorne and Darnall schools, in order to raise educational standards and enrich the educational experience. I would be delighted to share my experiences and help Dobcroft school community improve even further.

Rachael Martin

Co-Opted Governor (Nov 2014 - )

I am a Town Planner and for the past ten years I have worked in Leeds as a Planning Consultant advising clients on planning and development matters. My career involves working as part of large multi disciplinary teams and developing relationships with people through excellent communication skills. This ensures the delivery of successful projects within budget and tight deadlines. I believe these professional skills will help in the role of parent governor.
My eldest son is in Year 1 and my youngest son will start in 2018. So I have embarked upon what I hope will be a long, enjoyable and rewarding relationship with the school.
Currently I am on a career break from work and so I will be able to offer my time and enthusiasm to the school in its PSA activities and perhaps as a Governor. I relish the opportunity to engage with parents and to promote the school and the interests of its children.  I would hope to work closely with all parents and to support Mrs Rowland and her Staff in their quest to ensure that the school continues to give its children an outstanding education.  If elected I would welcome the chance to learn more about the school and its educational processes which might also contribute to my own continuing development.
