DOBCROFT INFANT SCHOOL

Lunchtime Sports Rota

Date: 20th Sep 2019 @ 8:17am

Hi all,

As part of the Goverment's Sports Premium intiative it is important that all children are being physically active for at least 60 minutes during the day, 30 minutes of which should be within school time.

We are aware how much many of our children love sports and trying different opportunities and ways of being active.  With this in mind we have worked with the welfare supervisors to create organised sports activities at lunchtimes for children to access.  These activities will include football, basketball, a girl's sports session, large construction, our scrap shed and a session run by sports leaders from the Junior School where children will be set personal challenges.

The activities will change half termly, and we are very open to ideas from the children about what they would like to have in school with many of the ideas coming from our Rights Respecting Council.

Attached is the rota for the first half term so you can see what is available to your child.  The year 2's will also be continuing to participate in The Daily Mile for the first 15 minutes of every lunchtime to get active, and challenge themselves to see how many laps of the school they can do.
